Well folks summer is about going to be gone early for the people on the panhandle of Florida. We should just skip from July to December. Not all, but by many people in the panhandle of Florida look forward to summer time arriving because of being able to go to the beaches. The Florida beaches will soon ave tar balls and oil which will destract people from going to the beaches. I am upset just like many others about losing part of my summer. How this whole mess has gotten as big as it is I will never understand? How there was not a backup plan in place for such a diaster? It is just really amazing that over two months ago this started and here we are wth oil still gushing into the ocean. Not only are people going to lose out on spending time at the beach, but what about all the wildlife that is going to be affected by this horrible situation. I just hope that the U.S. government holds B.P. accountablefor everything.

I agree completely. I know that "everything that can be done is being done" or so the media tells us, but I feel that is is taking much longer than it should. However, I ahve been fortunate enough to go to the beaches I so dearly love a few times in the last weeks and am happy to report that they are still as beautiful as ever. I doubt it will stay this way, but for the time being I hope people continue to come to our beaches. While the media is ahving a hay day with this issue theya re also causing more damage that necessary to the sumer economics that so many beachfront communities thrive on. If people would turn of their tvs and just get out and go, most likely their summer vacation will bring all that they hoped it would.
